Nyotaimori

Ever imagined yourself drooling over a human platter of sushi and sashimi?
"Nyotaimori" literally translates to "female body presentation". It is a practice where customers dine from sushi and sashimi which have been articulately presented upon a naked woman's body. Of course, in most cases, some form of garnish would separate the food from making direct contact with her flesh... as well as cover her for a degree of modesty's sake.
However, do take note that this is not mainstream practice and some sources indicate that it is often related to organised crime activity.
Would you dine in this manner?
While it would definitely make a unique experience, having your sushi and sashimi warmed up to body temperature may not be quite to your liking. Aside from the temperature of the food, you may also want to have a peek at the prices beforehand. At some restaurants, hiring a model could relieve your hip pocket of over $1,000.
Oh, and while we're at it, it seems that there is also "nantaimori" (male body presentation). However, compared to nyotaimori, it seems to be a rarer occurence.
Can you find any local nyotaimori restaurants?
Without a doubt, nyotaimori is a controversial practise. It has made appearances throughout Asia as well as in the Western spheres. However, crossing the oceanic boundaries may lead to unintended consequences.
It isn't too surprising that in the US, the opening of "Hadaka Sushi" (Naked Sushi) has led to an emphasis of the sexual connotations to such a dining method. This in turn, raises the moral debate of whether such practise is ethical.
However, rather than go on discussing the ethical debate, I shall end on an open question: What do you think of this practise?

I certainly find it demeaning for a woman when she's hired to be a platter at a party with many people around (this happens in the US I believe...). However, when it comes to the private restaurants... in general, if it's not run by Yakuza, then the women have chosen to work voluntary.
